Wasn’t sure about today but a few were going to Levington Marina early to catch the 9.40 high water, but rain was forecast early so I was going to make my mind up when I got up. Although cloudy at 7 I decided to give it a try with Mag deciding to bike over later if dry for lunch. I arrived at the marina, thankfully still open for windsurfing just before eight with super keen Andy M and Michael G already there. With loads of marina jetty now in our parking area while they dredge the marina, we have to park a little further away which is not a problem. Andy was going to rig his 6.2 but decided on his 6.6 with Michael going for 6.5 after checking Landguard weather station. I didn’t look overly windy as Andy set off but he did manage to get going after 2/3 tacks so I rigged my 7m. As I entered the water it seemed the wind had built and after a few tacks out to deeper water I had my best two runs of the day to the trees near Pin Mill and back in super flat water with the session looking very promising. Sadly, the wind then just disappeared and after an hour slogging back and forth with the wind teasing you, I didn’t get flying again, at least the rain stopped and we saw a little sun. Still the hot shower was good and I drove to the other end of the marina to wait for Mag to arrive on her bike. She got there around midday but the ride had been a bit of a nightmare with the paths very muddy but we enjoyed our homemade soup before driving home. The weekend is looking interesting. Strong and gusty winds, mild but with heavy rain so I am thinking another trip to Levington if not raining too much????

PS - I have noticed it is Friday the 13th so perhaps it would have been better to stay at home !!!! :)
